I haven't made as much progress as I'd like this month but, hey, it all counts! I'm hoping that now I have the centre section done I will make quicker progress.

Here is my update I didn't achieve what I wanted this month but hey ho, the easter holidays are coming up so maybe I will get some done then.

Tanglewood - March progress

Well work tried to get in the way but I persevered over the weekend so have something to show for March.  I have finished all off my first color.  I think.  I figure stitching should be easier now because counting should be easier.  I don't usually stitch this way but I was enjoying the simplicity of the single color and decided to finish.  Hopefully some counting error won't tell on me as I move onto a new color.

I thought I would throw in this nice closeup.  I love how it shows off the colors, though the flash washed everything out a little.

Viv's March progress - Sea Stars

Got a fair bit done, for me, this month - that sea horse was such fun to work on!  Made a good start on the big motif next to the sea horses.  Next chess tournament on Easter Monday - hope to get more done then!

Cirque des Carreaux ~ March 2010 update.

I am updating now because I can see the light at the end of the tunnel on this one with less than 2 pages left to go...and I have lost interest and want to start something new. I am going to put this aside for a week or two and see if interest will come back before I order threads to start other stuff. LOL

March update - Cirque des Cercles

I know it's not the end of March yet, but tomorrow we leave Chicago for a week in London!! Figured I should post this since I doubt I'll get much more done in the 2 or 3 days of March left after we get back.
Now for the big question -- anybody know any cross stitch shops I should visit while I'm there?
See you in April!

My March update

If you read my blog you'll know that I've got a problem with my wrist right now and it means that I can't stitch projects that need Q snaps very easily but before I worked that out fully I got around 10 hours in on Kaleidoscope.
My wrist is improving a little every day so hopefully next month I'll be able to get loads done

Chronical of the Beast p3 and a sneak peek

The update on Beast is quite large as I am approaching a third done.

Along the top, the local crows have been into Oma Bea's moonshine. As the Drachten crows are none too bright, half of the murder are on the wrong side of the bar, waiting foolishly in vain. the cannier bunch are on the right side, sucking up to the boss by bringing gifts on top of their glasses. The locals are still not too sure of the side effects of the home brew so feel that the crows are suitable testers. The locals are, however, are now beginning to regret allowing this situation to happen as drunken crows are prone to falling off branches and out of the sky, injuring both themselves and local residents. The crow beneath the honkin big V, is carrying a cool towel to place over his mates head to east the hangover!

The local pet population are just as out of control and a water-shy cat was seen climbing the town square fountain pursuing the sober Calvinist wildlife. There are suspicions that the cat had either been in Oma Bea's catnip patch or been licking up the crows leftovers

On an emerging wildlife front, the local squirrels seem to be on a health and fitness mission and the first one seems to be working on her strength and agility by taking up Pilates. Shown below the V, this little lady squirrel has been spotted with her Magic Circle to assist her mission.

Be afraid Drachten, be very afraid!

And now for something completely different!
This is not mine - this is my best friend Lyn's take on CdT
I brought he the chart for her birthday last year and gave her the fabric when she rummaged my stash. It's on 28Ct Apricot Jobelan with three shades of DMC blues, it is already a well travelled project. It wnet in Ltyns hand luggage for her trip to Australia in December and came back with the entire border worked. What else can you do with two long flights and a layover in Seoul?
The colour has come out fairly well - the fabric is more orange than brown.
Until next time - farewell and happy stitching
PS I'm also finishing off a friends THOM - purple on pink!

Bramble and The Rose progress

Well, I've managed to finally make a start on my The Bramble and The Rose.

Had to wait for my thread - Threadworx Lava Rocks, which I really like, and my linen, which I didn't... sigh! So went through stash, which is very small compared to my quilting stash, and found a piece of what I think is 28ct quaker cloth in white, and am loving this one. This is a photo after 1 night's stitching - watching a couple of episodes of the first season of Waking the Dead, so probably about 5 hours all up.

Hope to do some more this week.

Bramble & Rose -first stitches for March

This is a "first" for me in more ways than one . . . first ever Ink Circles design, first time stitching on 32 count fabric, and first photo after only three hours on this new project - but want to show off my fabric and threads nonetheless ^^.

Am stitching on Jobelan antique white 32 count using Threadworx "Morning Meadows".

bramble and rose

Okay - so this is my first post here (waving from a kind of spring like Scotland!), my first but definitely not my last Ink Circle and here is my first picture of what i have done so far. I started this a few months ago but kind of got sidetracked with other commitments but am now working it into my rotation for the forseeable future.

Using white 32ct linen with carries creations "island breeze".

Am loving seeing everyone elses work here - all the different colourways are so inspiring.

Olympic Bramble Progress(Feb. wrap up)

I started this the night of the Olympic Opening Ceremonies and I worked on it any time we had the games on in our house(which was basically for all of Men's Hockey). Pictured above is where I finished at the end of Closing Ceremonies. I basically finished 1/3 of the project and I am taking this week off to knit for a bit but I will pick it back up this month.

Happy Stitching!

Bramble and the Rose SAL (March)

After eagerly awaiting the 1st of March so I could start my Bramble and the Rose along with everyone else joining in the SAL I set myself some free time to do nothing other that sit and stitch and several hours later here is my start. I’m disappointed that the colours are not showing very well, the fabric is actually pale green and the fabric and threads really compliment each other so I’m a happy bunny.

I look forward to seeing all your B & R pics and the different colour choices that have been made.

Last February Update - Growth Rings

What a month!  I was on such a role at the beginning, but the past few weeks have not been that productive.  What I thought was just allergies, turned into a nasty cold.

I don't think this will show much of an update, but will post anyway :)

Here is Growth Rings at the beginning of February

And here is Growth Rings at the end of February

Hope everyone has a productive March!!
