Tanglewood after the frogs . . .

Well, I thought I was further along until I started the second branch on the right and realized that the lower branch was off by one row.  Darn, darn, darn!  Well I got it ripped out and restarted but then life got in the way.  I hope to be able to pick this up again next week.  I really like the color though and it is such a great way to show off variegated thread.

Kristen's January Progress- Cirque des Cercles

I made some progress this month that I think I can be proud of. I get excited every time I finish a circle. I almost made it through another page. Everyone's progress is wonderful here. There are so many color combinations and designs. I am glad of the inspiration.

A late entry, and a Finish!!

BOInk finished!

Thank you for letting me join in with this. I've long been a big fan of Ink Circle designs, but since I've gone back to work and college, stitching time is even more limited - but I take my sons to chess tournaments, which are normally all-day events, and BOInk has long been my 'chess piece', lol! People are always amazed when they see it - and I'm so pleased with the colours (I used the recommended Tracy's selection Carries Creation floss). The fabric is an opalescent Silkweaver - I think it was a Solo but I'm not 100% certain as it's been so long since I started. I hope to carry on with the SAL - I'm thinking of starting on Sea Stars, just trying to find the perfect fabric. Certainly the people at chess will be chasing me up for progress, and the next competition is some time in February!

Changes to my CdCx ~ January Progress

I have a love/hate relationship with the Hand Dyed Fibers grab bags. I am always so excited to see what I get and then realize that one of the colors is perfect for a project I already picked colors for. Normally this isnt too bad as I havent started said project. This time it didnt work that way. I tossed all my new fibers onto my stitching tray, which just happened to have my Cirque des Carreaux on it. One of the skeins looked amazing on it. :( So, at almost the half way point, I ripped out my secondary color on CdCx and have been working on replacing it with the new color I quickly ordered. So, now I have unprogress I have made on my CdCx. The good news it that I am really not that far behind anymore. I have almost caught up to my orginal color scheme!

Progress!

I spent a few days last week working on Kaleidoscope and made some good progress with it, the colours are alot brighter than I thought they were but I'm loving it.
I have a few other things I need to get stitched this month so I was a little sad to have to put this away :(
Lindsay

Winter Mandala

Just thought I would show a pic of my progress on Winter Mandala as I can't get enough good light to photograph Cirque des triangles. I am enjoying stitching this as the colours are really "me".
Next job is to choose threads and fabric for Bramble and the Rose!

Cirque des Triangles

I've been stitching like mad over the last few days on my CDT so thought I would share my progress with you. There are just over 7 triangles left to go and once I stitch the centre triangles I know I will whizz through the last row.

I can't wait to do my Happy Dance !!

upcoming Bramble and Rose

I've just joined Ink Circles Stitchers because on 1st March, I'll be starting The Bramble and the Rose along with Sandra, Sheila (totallythreadup) and several blogless friends. Have already chosen my threads and fabric: Threadworx "Morning Meadows" on antique white 32 count Jobelan. This is going to be my first ever Ink Circles design, and a first on 32 count too - can't wait to get started ^^

The Bramble and the Rose

I've noticed when reading this and other blogs that there are a lot of stitchers who have either started the Bramble and the Rose as a new project for 2010 or are in the process of choosing their fabric and thread ready to make a start. I have given myself a deadline to complete my CDT and on the 1st March or thereabouts myself and a few others will be starting a Bramble and the Rose SAL and posting our progress on this blog. I thought it would be a great idea if we would all start together so if you know of anyone wanting to join in perhaps you could mention this in your personal blogs with a link to this post. I know there are a lot of Ink Circle Stitchers out there so come on and join in - the more the merrier! Sheila

Sea Stars January Update

I've finally done enough stitching on this piece for it to be worth adding an update picture. :0)
Here's my progress so far this month:

A couple of minor frog visits whilst stitching a couple of the motifs but, thankfully, nothing as drastic as last time. Still enjoying getting back to this piece. :0)

2010 - First update CDT

Happy New Year everyone - it's great to see so much activity in this group with great progress being made and also so lovely new starts. This has encouraged me to pic up my CDT which I had put down for a while. I don't have a lot left to complete and I find this stitches up so quickly I'll soon be doing a happy dance which means I can have a "new start" . Here is my progress for this year.

Cirque des Cercles

This is my first post to any group ever. Thanks for letting me play too.  This Cirque des Cercles was started at the beginning of last year. I forgot what linen the brown is, but the thread is DMC 4130. It will go in the living room next to pictures of fall scenes when it is done. What do you use for hoops for a project like this? Any advice would be fabulous.

I am excited for what the year will bring.

My first Ink Circles - Tanglewood

Hello all, I look forward to belonging and contributing instead of just reading this year. This is my first Ink Circles project though I have drooled over many. The threads are from HDF - Vikki Clayton and the fabric I got from my 'sort of' local store and is 32ct Belfast Linen in Platinum. I just got threads today and took a toss picture. I'll get started tomorrow. Next time I'll make my picture smaller, sorry.

Growth Rings update

Since I had not worked on this in a few weeks, I thought January 2/3 would be a good time to do it.
I didn't get to stitch a lot on Saturday, but spent most of Sunday stitching .
Here is my progress as of Sunday night

My Kaleidoscope

In the spirit of things I thought I'd post my starting point, apologies for the whiteness but I had to use the flash and trust me the other's were worse!
Lindsay
Well it is lovely to see so many people posting their beautiful works in progresses and new starts.
I have been slogging away on Cirque Des Triangles the last two days, I hope to get a progress photo up before the end of January.
I do hope this SAL does encourage you all to stitch and post over the year
I look forward to seeing all your progress posts.
Thank you all for joining and taking part

Its a New Year and time for starts . . I guess . . .

Hi and thank you for letting me join.

I belong to the Yahoo group and started the BOINK last spring.  Because of some family issues, a move and a lost of stitching moo joo  it only has the border done.  I'm hoping that this year will be much better.

I'll be working on the BOINK after I rip out what I currently have.  I'm changing colors.  Hope to have a pic of the floss toss of my colors later in the week.

In my pile for this year I would also like to start Bramble and the Rose and I was gifted I Still Do.  I'm not married but I love this so I'll make changes to it so its appropriate.

Will be enjoying this all year long.

Ink Circles SAL

This SAL will start officially on the 1st January 2010. There are no strict rules about when to SAL. You can join in whenever you want. All I ask is that you post up at least one progress picture a month and by the end of the month. As a little incentive, for those who post up progress pictures for ten out of the twelve months, I will do a drawing and award someone with a little gift. It might be an ONS voucher or a gift from me or the latest Ink Circles chart or something else. I don't know yet but it is an incentive for us all to post up progress by the end of each month. Please if you know someone who would like to join us with their own Ink Circles WIP/UFO please pass on the link they are more than welcome to Join us.
