Cirque De Carreaux and Growth rings

thanks for the invite Rachael, Hello everyone I'm Lisa, I'm glad to be part of your group, I love seeing all the designs stitched in different colours
I've never tackled a large design like these before so I'm hoping by posting my progress here, it will encourage me to keep going. I have a few IC charts in my stash

I started Growth rings back in March, the chart was quite difficult for me to read so DH has enlarged it for me so will hopefully be able to continiue with this one
here's how I left it in March(sorry for the creases)

My new start is Cirque De Carreaux I started this lovely design on Thursday 21st of May, this is my progress after 1 whole skein has been used

thanks for looking

Cirque Des Triangles - Week 1

Hello everyone and thank you for letting me join your group. I look forward to getting to know you and seeing your progress as the weeks go by. I think this blog is a great idea as you get to see the different designs being stitched in a variety of differnt coloured threads and fabrics and I know I wil want to stitch a lot more of these designs once I see them!

I started stitching my first Ink Circle design last Saturday (May 16)and am stitching Cirque des Triangles on 28 count linen using Carrie's Creations hand-dyed floss Mojave Fire. It started well but I stitched the bottom part of the larger triangle and realised I had miscounted by one stitch and had to unpick the lot. I've quickly leart to concentrate and recount my stitches as there is no way of "hiding" an error. I love the symmetrical design but I think this is bring out my OCD tendancy as I want to complete each side before putting it down ;)

Here is a pic of what I have done so far

Hope to have loads more progress to show you next time.

More progress

Since starting my new rotation, progress is slow on individual projects but I did get some work done on CdC. I'm still enjoying the colors and stitching it and am really hoping to get this done sometime this year, lol!

Greetings from California

I just joined the blog today. I have been a big fan of Ink Circles for a couple of years now. I own a very large number of their charts. I wont bore you with the complete list.

Last year I finished Cirque des Cercles and had it framed. I absolutely love it. It is stitched 2 over 2 on 28ct Lugana in "Leather" by Stab and Stash. The floss is "Fish Pepper 4431" (main color) and an old version of "Fire Dragon" by Hand Dyed Fibers.

I am currently working on Blackstone Fantasy Garden and Tanglewood.

BFG is stitched 2 over 2 on 28ct linen in "Fairydust" using the recommended Carrie's Creation threads.

Tanglewood is being stitched 2 over 2 on 28ct Jobelan in "Bluebell". I am using the DMC conversion for the threads. Since it is being stitched on blue fabric I decided to do the cloud in B5200. I havent decided on a color for the leaves yet as there was no conversion to DMC on the list. I have a stash of about 10 different hand dyed flosses that I am testing.

I am currently getting ready to start Cirque des Carreaux. I will be doing this one 2 over 2 so the size matches my CDC. I have picked out a 28ct Cashel linen in "Meadow Mist". I am not completely sure about the floss yet. I do know that I want to use Hand Dyed Fibers "Old Maid of the Forest"...which is so much prettier in person than the picture on her site. I have a few other solid colors on order from her at the moment that I want to check out before my final decision. This is my preliminary floss toss. "Old Maid of the Forest" and "Jadeite 2471".

Well, that's all I have going at the moment. There are a few more screaming out to me and I am not sure how much longer I can keep putting them off. I'll let you all know when they get started too!

1st progress pic

I thought I would share my first motif ( well two if you count the mini one) I am quite pleased with how this looks, I am not a fan of over one, but I may or not be by the end of this design!

Happy Stitching
Elizabeth, Thank you I do appreciate you letting me know, there is nothing like getting something framed and then realising you have missed a couple of stitches. The Fabric I am using is 28ct Brittany. I do hope you get the urge to buy the chart and then you can join us. ;0)
