Hi Tanya here, and I have just started Cerque des Triangles, I'm not sure my fabric choice and thread colour are the best match. I absolutely love my choices Sparklies, Sparkingly bonkers hand dyed fabric along with Threadworx dreamscape thread. I'm just not sure the thread shows up enough on the fabric but I am going to stitch a bit more and see if it looks better when the triangles fill out.
What do you all think should I change my thread colour or keep going and see how it goes?

First post - Happy Dance

Hi everyone, even though I've been a member of this blog for a while and have enjoyed reading all your posts and seeing your lovely stitching this is my first post here. I'd like to share my final finish of 2009, which is Growth Rings, stitched using the recommended Hand Dyed Fibers on a Polstitches fabric called Heirloom.

And here's a close up to show the lovely colours.

This is my second Ink Circles finish this year, the first being Cirque des Triangles, and I also have Cirque des Carreaux as a WIP.

I'd love to join in with the SAL in 2010, my first aim being to finish Cirque des Carreaux but I really want to start The Bramble and the Rose next year too, I just have to find the perfect colour, which is harder than I thought it would be LOL.

Getting ready for 2010

The title reads scary – Cannot believe it is 2010 already!

I thought I would join in and share what I will be working on during the year.  I have a number of Ink Circles WIPs that I hope to complete sometime this year or at least get a good number of x’s added.

Tanglewood,32ct Antique White lugana & Carrie’s Threads.  Im working on getting this one completed for entry into the county fair this year.

Tanglewood 11-30-09

Mother Maya – 35ct Kudzu WDW linen, Threads GA Autumn Leaves.  This one is for my older son.  The boys come with me from time to time when I visit our LNS and this chart caught his eye.  Color choices are his.

Mother Maya 12-18-09

Growth Rings, 32ct Rock Quarry Lugana, Threads are Carron Wildflowers Emerald & Nefertiti

Growth Rings 6-13-09

Cirque des Carreaux – 30ct Garnet WDW linen, Threads Caron Wildflowers Elderberry Wine.  Im not one for reds & purples.  Greens are more my color pallet.  These colors are just too beautiful together and will be a nice change from the greens I tend to work with.

CDD Redo 7-15-09

I have the chart for Bramble & The Rose but Im still having internal arguments over colors and fabric.

Looking forward to seeing everyone’s updates :o)

Blackstone Fantasy Garden December 2009

This is what I will be stitching along with I'm hoping this SAL will help me to finish this as it has been on the go for a couple of years now, it is a joy to stitch but has been at the bottom of the pile

It is stitched on 28ct Brittney Lurex with the said Carries Creations colours

Hazel's Ink Circles

Dec 09 before i start the Ink Circles SAL blog

Here is my CdC design which has been in my UFO pile for ages now. I really hate working on it and I don't know why! It might be the fabric as it is quite dark. Mulberry linen. It might be the Thread Gatherer silks which seem to look a bit fuzzy. Shade Spring Frocks. It could be that I had numerous starts on this one and unpicked several times before deciding on this. I just don't know. I am hoping this SAL will help me get going on it and make some progress. Thanks for letting me participate Rachael! x

2010 SAL starting points.

I guess I'll post my 2010 SAL starting points as well. :) CdCx will be my focus. I want to get this one finished before the end of 2010. I am about 1/3 of the way done, and I am sure that wont be a problem.

Cirque des Carreaux by Ink Circles
Fabric: 28ct Cashel Linen in Meadow Mist
Fibers: Hand Dyed Fibers in JewelWeed 3169 and Yawning Mountain

I'll also be stitching on Tanglewood, but probably not as often.

Tanglewood by Ink Circles.
Fabric: Jobelan in Bluebell
Threads: DMC conversion, except for B5200 for clouds and undecided on leaves.

After I finish CdCx I am thinking of starting on either The Bramble and the Rose or Growth Rings. Knowing me, I'll probably start both of them.

Sea Stars 2009 Update

Following in Rachael's footsteps, I though I'd also post some pics of where this piece stands now before the 2010 SAL starts.

I left off this back in the summer after a particularly disastrous encounter with that dratted frog, the result being: having to frog out the right hand side of the large central motif. That was the biggest frogging session after several smaller ones that really put me off this back in the early summer. Last week I picked it out of the UFO pile and decided to re-stitch the motif (in the right place) ready for the SAL starting in 2010. This is where it stands now:

I can't unroll the whole piece to take a pic, as the fabric is stitched to the frame, but here's a view of how much I could unroll, to give you an idea of how far along the piece is:

Still a ways to go....... but if I do manage to have a finish before the end of next year there are several other IC designs kitted up ready to go. LOL

Hope you all have a happy festive season. Look forward to watching all your pieces developing through 2010. :0)

Growth Rings progress

I haven't stitched on this one in a few days, but here is where I am at

Tuesday, 1 December 2009

Sorry Ladies I should of explained myself properly, When I meant Monthly progress I meant just that and then at the end of the year I will put all the names that manage monthly post in a pot and draw a name a bit like what they are doing HERE More of an incentive than a contest really. But I will give that person a gift!
I think I will put in a poll/vote widget in the sidebar, and see what response from that.

Progress on Growth Rings

Here is my progress on Growth Rings as of November 29, 2009

Ladies I was thinking of having a small contest to run all through 2010, with the winner getting to choose an Ink circles design of their choice.
Here is where I would like your input, what would you prefer a monthly post contest, where you show your progress? or maybe Based on Ink circle finishes, and I mean the larger designs not the freebies.
Any ideas welcome, if you would be interested in such a thing to encourage you to dust off your project and get stitching, even if you think it is a bad idea, I would like your opinions.
Thank you

Cirque des Triangles

I've not worked on this for a while as I've had a bit of a stitching lull...again , but I did pick this up a couple of weeks ago and was enjoying it so much I just carried on and on until I had completed the top half of the chart.

Here is how it's looking now.

I've done quite a bit of stitching on my other projects and will be updating my blog in a few days so come over and take a peek.

another update on BFG

Friday night I drove about just over an hour to a new stitching friend's house.  I took other projects, but only worked on Blackstone Fantasy.

I forgot to take a pic before I left, but here is where I was before I went to bed Sunday night.

Although the backstitching/blackwork takes longer than the other, I am still enjoying stitching this so much!

Hope everyone has a great week

Sorry for the delay in posting... I had a week on holidays and then was sick for a week.
I have made really great progress on my BFG.  I have finished filling in the green and am half way done filling in the brown.
Hope to have a pic after this weekend.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Cirque des Carreaux Oct. update.

Fabric: 28ct Cashel Linen in Meadow Mist
Fibers: Hand Dyed Fibers in JewelWeed 3169 and Yawning Mountain
I have completed the 2nd page and I am working on the 3rd and 4th pages now. I keep trying to put it away so I can work on some Love Quilt squares I am doing and to try and finish up my Christmas stitching. It keeps sneaking back into rotation.

Cirque des Triangles

I seem to be amongst those who have done hardly any stitching lately but over the last few weeks I seem to have got myself back on track. After seeing Rachael's progress on her CDT after stitching a few of the outlines on page one I decided to complete the outline in the centre but I seem to have got a little carried away and have finished ALL of the outline of the full chart as well as fully completing page one! .

Here are a few pics of my progress.

Page one

...the total chart

It was quite a relief when everything fitted into place and there was no more "frogging" to be done. I'm hoping to be able to pick this up and complete a triangle or two at a time and as I enjoy stitching this so much I'm sure it will grow really quickly.

I look forward to seeing more of your updates soon.

A finish! Blackstone Fantasy Garden

I have been pushing for the last couple of weeks to finish this. I put everything but smalls and some other quick crafting projects to the side. It finally paid off! All links are clickable.

Blackstone Fantasy Garden by Ink CirclesBFG CloseupBFG Closeup

This is stitched on 28ct Cashel Linen in Fairydust with the recommended Carrie's Creations threads.

CdCx will be my next focus piece although I may flitter around a bit again. I am just not a one at a time type girl. It also means that I have an extra project bag that is empty! You know what that means?? New start!! Woohoo!

BFG and CdCx progress

Here's the latest progress of my Cirque des Carreaux. It's moving right along, but I'll be setting it aside for a while.

28ct Cashel Linen in Meadow Mist
Hand Dyed Fibers in Jewelweed 3169 and Yawning Mountain

Here is my Blackstone Fantasy Garden. I have decided that this has been a WiP long enough and I will finish it before the year is over. I started it in January of 2007. I love it and it's an easy stitch, I just keep starting other stuff.

28ct Cashel Linen in Fairy Dust
Carrie's Creations floss pack

So, get your cheerleader outfits on and cheer me on to the end of my BFG. :) And smack my hand if I start working on another else other than obligation pieces!

Cirque des Triangles

After my disaster with CdT I knew that I would have to restart this as soon as possible or else it would have been put aside forever. It took me just two days to unpick and I restarted this on Monday and I've decided to do the outlines of the triangles first rather than fill them in one by one and have managed to complete pages 1,2 and 3 :)

Here is a pic of my new start

My sister Sandra has recently completed Cirque des Triangles and it the pic doesn't do it justice - it's gorgeous. Take a look here

Hope you are making good progress with your projects - lets see a few pics! Has anyone started the Bramble and the Rose yet? This is on my list and am keen to see what fabric and threads people are using for this design.

Cirque des Carreaux 6/18 update

Here's the next installment of my CdCx. It's stitched on 28ct Cashel linen in Meadow Mist. The threads are Jewelweed 3169 and Yawning Mountain by Hand Dyed Fibers. I am really enjoying this. It reminds me of how much fun I had doing CdC. I am setting it aside for a while to stitch on another project.

Cirque des Triangles

The weather here has been absolutely glorious lately and I have been trying to make the most of it while it lasts which unfortunately has left little time for stitching but I have managed to make a little progress on some of the projects I have ongoing at the moment. Yesterday I was in the garden getting sunburnt - today it is absolutely lashing down with rain - British Weather!!!

Here's the latest update on my CDT, not a lot I know but every little helps :)

As it looks like I'm stuck indoors today I'm going to have a quiet afternoon catching up with my stitching :) I look forward to seeing more of your progress soon.

Started CdCx and BFG update

I hardly worked on Tanglewood this last week or two, so there's no update picture. All I did was fill in a very small branch at the top of the design.

I did get quite a bit done on my BFG though. I really need to just buckle down and finish it. It's acutally been a wip since 2007. Here is my current update on Blackstone Fantasy Garden. It's stitched on 28 ct linen in Fairydust with the recommended Carrie's Creations threads.

I also started CdCx a couple of nights ago. I havent had much time to stitch on it. It's stitched on 28ct cashel linen in Meadow Mist with Hand Dyed Fibers in Jewelweed 3169 for the main color and Yawning Mountain for the secondary color.

Cirque des Triangles

Hi all. I've not had a lot of time for stitching lately but I have managed to make some progress on CDT which I'd like to share with you.

Hope you are all enjoying your projects as much as I am.

The Bramble and the Rose

Has everyone seen the new issue of The Gift of Stitching? There's a new Ink Circles design called The Bramble and the Rose. Personally, I love it and immediately got a subscription. Luckily I had been thinking about getting a sub for the last 6 months and had just been procrastinating. But once they put an Ink Circles design on the carrot they had dangled in front of me, I went straight for it!

Cirque De Carreaux and Growth rings

thanks for the invite Rachael, Hello everyone I'm Lisa, I'm glad to be part of your group, I love seeing all the designs stitched in different colours
I've never tackled a large design like these before so I'm hoping by posting my progress here, it will encourage me to keep going. I have a few IC charts in my stash

I started Growth rings back in March, the chart was quite difficult for me to read so DH has enlarged it for me so will hopefully be able to continiue with this one
here's how I left it in March(sorry for the creases)

My new start is Cirque De Carreaux I started this lovely design on Thursday 21st of May, this is my progress after 1 whole skein has been used

thanks for looking

Cirque Des Triangles - Week 1

Hello everyone and thank you for letting me join your group. I look forward to getting to know you and seeing your progress as the weeks go by. I think this blog is a great idea as you get to see the different designs being stitched in a variety of differnt coloured threads and fabrics and I know I wil want to stitch a lot more of these designs once I see them!

I started stitching my first Ink Circle design last Saturday (May 16)and am stitching Cirque des Triangles on 28 count linen using Carrie's Creations hand-dyed floss Mojave Fire. It started well but I stitched the bottom part of the larger triangle and realised I had miscounted by one stitch and had to unpick the lot. I've quickly leart to concentrate and recount my stitches as there is no way of "hiding" an error. I love the symmetrical design but I think this is bring out my OCD tendancy as I want to complete each side before putting it down ;)

Here is a pic of what I have done so far

Hope to have loads more progress to show you next time.
