Ok so I jumped the gun!

I kept telling myself that I would start CDC after the first of the year, but I just had to reward myself for getting all my December goals finished. So without further delay, my first progress pic of CDC after 6 hours of stitching:

Sorry the pic isn't the best, it was taken at night. The fabric is actually more blue than it appears. I'm using 28 ct Jazlyn Opalescent Blue and DMC variations 4240. It's a blue/purple combo.

I have to say I'm really enjoying this project. It's actually rather relaxing compared to some of my other projects. And since I have gone on the Wagon regarding stash, I just had to get one last minute item that I could not possibly live without....Cirque des Carreaux. CDT never really got my interest for some reason, but as soon as I saw Carreaux, I knew it was be fun to stitch.

Sea Stars Progress

Thought I'd post a more recent update of Sea Stars. This is after Week 16 of the SAL:

No progress for Week 17 (last week) due to other commitments and there won't be any this week, as it's Christmas Day. Roll on the New Year. LOL

BTW, love the new look Rachael. :0)

Garden Stars

Here is my first pic of Garden Stars

The Green thread is a Madiera thread, the thread above that I am not sure about for the big motif, so may have to frog that and choose a different colour.

Thanks for looking

Woo hoo!!

I have the fabric to start Garden Stars at last, it is white 28ct Brittney, Thanks to a wonderful friend.
Not sure if I am going to hand dye it as it will mean I have to wait a bit longer to start it, But I would like a coloured fabby so will think on this.
And thanks to another wonderful friend I now have Cirque des Triangles, and I do have the fabby to start this as well, So watch this space!!

Sea Stars Update

Thought it was about time I posted an update, so here's the progress made after Week 11 of the SAL:

All Carrie's Creations threads. Still thoroughly enjoying this piece.

BTW, I have Tanglewood - a design that was in the JCS mag - kitted up for a start at any time. Anyone interested in doing this as a SAL?

Happy,Happy Dancing!!

Just finished this tonight!!

Nearly done!!

I have managed to do all the larger circles, now just all the little fill in bits, I might just have this finished for christmas

Friday, 31 October 2008

I have been thinking........

............. about doing the Garden/Sea stars as separate pieces, so each Motif is a single finish.
And then maybe put them all in a quilt maybe......ummm will have to ponder this idea more!

This is how Sea Stars looks after Week 7 SAL night:

The right hand motif is in Carrie's Creations Baja Blue. I also stitched a little more of the ships' wheel and added another tropical fish.

Roll on next week, I'm really getting in to this now. :0)

Sea Stars

I'm currently taking part in a three person SAL, via the Jayne's Attic Stitch'n'Stash Forum, of Sea Stars. We stitch on our pieces on Thursday nights and this is my progress for Week 5:

The other participants are Rosanne and Barb (no blog) and we are all stitching our pieces on different fabrics and using different threads. My SS is on a piece of Jayne's own hand dyed 28ct evenweave fabric and using all Carrie's Creations threads.

Feel free to join us on a Thursday night, if you wish. :0)

Blackstone Fantasy Garden

This is the first Ink Circles design I saw and immediately had to stitch. It's stitched on off white 28ct evenweave, using the recommended Carrie's Creations thread pack.

It combines my love of cross stitch, blackwork and celtic knotwork and was completed in July 2007. I enjoyed every single stitch.

Kaleidoscope

I started this in July last year and worked on it on and off for the rest of the year. When I did my rotation reshuffle in Jan and again in June this year it got put on the back burner but I plan on making it an active WIP in Jan next year unless a SAL appears on here for it that is.
It's on 32ct White Minster Linen and I love the way it's looking already.

Introduction

I have started this blog as I have a few Ink Circles designs and I feel they need a blog all of their own.
I am currently stitching Cirque des Cercles, I am stitching on a evenweave that I hand dyed myself with tea and coffee, the threads are Carrie's Creations~ Ashes, Tiger eye and Wildfire.

CDC

I also have Garden stars and Sea stars and I have many more on my wish lists
